1. Startklaar

1
Which key term matches this definition?

Circular motions of magma in the mantle. Hotter, less dense magma rises and cooler, denser magma sinks. This motion is caused by caused by temperature differences between the hot core and cooler crust.

Slide 9 - Tekstslide

Convection current
2
Which key term matches this definition?

The branch of geophysics concerned with the magnetism in rocks that was induced by the earth's magnetic field at the time of their formation.

Slide 10 - Tekstslide

Paleomagnetism
3
What are the three types of plate boundaries (movements)?

Slide 11 - Tekstslide

convergent, divergent and transform
4
What is the name of Wegener theory of plate tectonics?

Slide 12 - Tekstslide

Continental Drift
5
Which seismic wave (P or S) can travel through both solids and liquids?

Slide 13 - Tekstslide

P-waves (primary)
6
Which key term matches this definition?

The rigid outer part of the earth, consisting of the crust and upper mantle.

Slide 14 - Tekstslide

Lithosphere
7
What are the three pieces of evidence for Wegener's theory?

Slide 15 - Tekstslide

Flora & Fauna, Rocks, Climate
8
