1. may / might om toestemming te vragen of zeggen dat iets niet is toegestaan. 'may' is mogen en 'might' is zouden (mogen).

2. I + might is een optie afwegen 

                                                                                                I might do the dishes tonight.

3. might is also used to give advice

Ought to

1. ought to geeft aan dat iets moet / beter zou zijn. ought to = zou moeten

I ought to go to the gym more often. 

You ought to clean up your room. 

Negations

Place not or n't after the modal / after the form of to be (in the case of to be able to)

You may not go home early.

You shouldn't have yelled at your best friend.

I wasn't able to come to your wedding.

ough to is not used in negations. Use should instead.
