Let's start with sentence structure

Basic: Subject, verb, object, manner, place, time

All sentences have the first two (Subject, verb) 
and can have a combination of or all of the rest or all of them.

My dad reads the newspaper
Sally walks to school today

Where do they go?

Subject - here - verb . I usually wake up at 7.

Except when there is a form of to be.
I am always late for school. 
She is never going to buy me a Christmas present.

Als er een hulpwerkwoord is, komt de "adverb of frequency" tussen de twee werkwoorden.

Peter has never been to Italy.
Will you always support FC Utrecht?

Adverbs of manner
Ze antwoord de vraag: Hoe dan? 
The boys walked slowly to the bus stop. (zonder voorwerp)
They waved to their friends enthusiastically. (met voorwerp)

De "object" krijgt de actie van de werkwoord. 
LET OP! : "Adverbs of manner" kan niet tussen de werkwoord en een voorwerp komen.

Plaats komt altijd voor tijd.

Place: in the car, there, here, at school, in the kitchen etc.

Time: today, yesterday, at 6pm, in the afternoon, in an hour etc.
