When you write papers later at school it's important to know how to make your writing look nice and natural

What is an Essay exactly?

An essay

try to make a point

give arguments

has 3 elements:

- introduction

- arguments

-conclusion

introduction

Tell people what you're going to be discussing today and what your opinion about it is. 

Make the reader a little curious

Penguins, are they cute or horrible? A lot of people really love them because they look so silly, but this actually isn't what penguins are. In this essay I'll explain to you why Penguins are the worst animals ever and why we should allow icebears to eat all of them.

First of allpenguins should be eaten because they are really stinky and walk weirdly. Penguins stink because....

Second of all, penguins should be eaten because icebears are dying out. If icebears would eat the penguins they ......

Summarise what you said in your paragraphs

say again what your opinion was

After all we see that penguins should be eaten by icebears because they stink and because icebears are dying out. If we make sure this happens soon we can rescue the world from bad smells and save the cute icebears!

now it's your turn

- write an essay about the news article

- write an introduction, two arguments and a conclusion

- make sure to use at least one adverb or adjective in each paragraph

- the whole essay has to be around 250 words

- hand it in at the end of the lesson, work in silence
