  • The passive voice is the opposite to the active voice.
    > "Everybody loves chocolate" - active
    > "Chocolate is loved by everybody" - passive

  • form of 'to be' + past participle
  • Present: am, are, is / Past: was, were

  • ... when the action is more important or interesting than the person who does the action.

  • If you want to say who does the action, you use an agent
    (= by + person)

  • It's not always necessary to add this, but sometimes it is!
