Emergency Guidelines

There are guidelines on how to prepare for emergencies and what to do in an emergency event. The UAE has the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) that creates guidelines for emergency events.

Section 1.4 Creating a Risk Register

A risk register outlines the risks from emergencies. You can create one and use it to plan how to control for potential emergencies.

Parts of risk register

The common structure of a risk register has important parts, including information about the potential emergency, its risks and its controls.

Date and Description

You need to list the date you identified a potential emergency. You also need to describe the potential emergency.

Risk Level

You need to describe the likelihood of the risk, which is how likely it will cause an emergency. You also need to describe the severity of the risk, which is how much damage the emergency would cause.

Mitigating Action

You need to describe the control measure that will be used to mitigate or reduce the risk.
