Demonstratives (Near)
To talk about things that are near us we use (This/These)
                    Singular = this                  Plural = these
Examples: 
- This is a nice cup of coffee.
- Whose shoes are these?

CAREFUL: We don't use these for an individual (it's very rude)
           This is Arielle and this is Colleen.

When we are talking about things that are far away we use that/those.
                        Singular = that                   Plural = those
Examples:
- What's that?
- Those are very expensive shoes.
- This is our house, and that's Rebecca's house over there.

Comparative Adjectives
Used to compare two people or two things to each other.
Usually, for one-syllable words, we use -er or -est:
old           older          oldest
long        longer        longest
When our word ends in a vowel and a consonant we double the consonant:
big          bigger        biggest
