Meervouden: -s

Meestal als je een woord in meervoud wil zeggen, plak je een -s aan het einde van het woord.

Onthoud wel:

-Zelfstandig naamwoorden die op -o eindigen niet altijd in het meervoud -es krijgen.

-Bijvoorbeeld: 1 radio - 2 radios, 1 piano - 2 pianos

Uitzonderingen:

- Deze 7 moet je helaas gewoon uit je hoofd leren en staan op blz 189 in je boek!

Sommige woorden beschrijven iets wat uit eigenlijk uit twee dingen bestaat (vaak kledingstukken/accesoires) In het Engels gebruik je dan een 'a pair of' met een woord in het meervoud erachter.

Examples:

- trainingsschoen = a pair of sneakers

- een bril = a pair of glasses --> twee brillen = two pairs of glasses

- een broek = a pair of trousers --> twee broeken = two pairs of trousers

Meestal gewoon -s	Star -> Star s Jacket -> Jacket s Cat -> Cat s
eindigt op s-klank wordt -es	Dress - > Dress es Box - > Box es Watch - > Watch es
-f wordt -ves	Leaf -> Lea ves Scarf -> Scar ves Wolf -> Wol ves
-y wordt -ies	Lady -> Lad ies Baby -> Bab ies Puppy -> Pupp ies
-o wordt -es	Hero - > Hero es Tomato -> Tomato es
Uitzonderingen:	Child -> Children Person -> People Fish -> Fish
