First conditional - likely to happen

First conditional

You study hard. (= if-clause; condition clause)

You pass the exam. (= result-clause)

If you study hard, you will pass the exam.

We take care of animals. (= if-clause; condition clause)

Animals will not go extinct. (= result-clause)

Animals will not go extinct if we take care of them.

Je gebruikt de first conditional (if) in een zin als......

1. het altijd gebeurt
2. het niet erg waarschijnlijk is dat het zal gebeuren
3. als het vrij waarschijnlijk is dat het zal gebeuren
4. het nooit gebeurt

Je maakt de first conditional met:

1. 'if' + present simple + will/won't + hele werkwoord
2. 'if' + past simple + would/wouldn't + hele werkwoord
3. 'if' + present simple + past simple
4. 'if' + past simple + present simple

First conditional:
If I ... (have) enough money, I ... (buy) new shoes.

1. have - will buy
2. will have - buy
3. have - buy
4. will have - will have

First conditional:
I ... (stay) home, if it ... (rain).

1. stay - will rain
2. stay - rains
3. will stay - rains
4. will stay - rain

First conditional:
If she .......(not listen), I ............(call) the security

1. don't listen/will call

3. doesn't listen/will call
4. doesn't listen/ won't call

Unless

Unless means ''tenzij''

(If means ''als'')

--> Unless you help me with my homework, I won't be upset with you anymore.

First conditional with when/as soon as

--> She will come visit me when school is out.

--> He will see the surprise as soon as he walks in.
