Learning Objective
At the end of the lesson, you will be able to test a website and complete a test table to prepare for your R097 Interactive Media coursework.
What is the purpose of testing a website (IDMP)?
Introduction to Website Testing
Website testing ensures functionality, usability, and performance. It identifies issues before the final deployment and hand over to the client.
Understanding Test Tables
Test tables help document test cases, expected outcomes, and actual results. Essential for structured testing.
Exercise
Download the test table and save into your R097 Exhibition in a Box / Task 2 Folder.
The first page has been completed for you - your job is to complete the other 4 pages.
You are testing the completed example in the same folder.
Remember to list each asset / function on the website and ensure it works as intended.
Run through test cases systematically. Record outcomes and note discrepancies between expected and actual results.
N/A stands for Non Applicable - i.e a retest is not needed as it passed the first test!
Task 2 - Asset Table
Using the same example website, your task is to complete the asset table - you only need to list the assets that are actually being used within the IDMP.
List:
Primary Assets - Logos / User Created Media / Graphics
Secondary Assets - Media / Graphics that have been collected from external sources.
One asset has been listed for you...
Write down 3 things you learned in this lesson.
Write down 2 things you want to know more about.
Ask 1 question about something you haven't quite understood yet.
