Today's programme
- First, we are going to repeat the rules of how to start a letter
- Then I will send you a paper in which you can find some important/useful sentences for your exam.
- Furthermore, we will be repeating the rules of how to end a letter
- Finally, you will be writing your own letter
- When we have some time left we will be doing a listening exercise from the book together.

Summary

- formal letter start: Dear Sir/Madam, Dear Mrs Smith, Dear Miss Smith, etc.
  formal letter end: Yours faithfully, OR Yours sincerely,

- informal letter start: Dear Peter, Hello Samira, etc.
  informal letter end: Kind regards,  All the best, etc. 

- Always use capital I (at the start, middle, end --> always!)
- Make sure you use your tenses consequently
- Make use of paragraphs (at least three)

We will now have a look at a correct English formal letter.

Writing exercise
Write an email to restaurant 'Miguel's Seafood'

Points that should be included:
- start your letter correctly
- tell them that you had take-away at the restaurant; name the date, time, name etc.
- write that you have been very ill after eating a fish dish, tell them how ill you have been
- ask for a proper solution/compensation
- end your letter correctly


Make sure you use around 150/200 words
