After WWII the Netherlands was in ruins and needed to be rebuild. Houses, factory, infrastructure and farmland were destroyed 

The dutch started to rebuild with:
1 Controled wages and prices. The dutch government kept prices and wages low. The dutch industry could produce cheap goods. This was good for dutch exports

2)Large farms and mechanisation. Small farms disappeared. There were more large farms. Agricultural production increased. Less people needed to work in agriculture. More people could work in industry and construction.

3)The construction of many houses. After WWII there was a babyboom. Many dutch started a family.

Explanation: Roman-red coalition
A coalition is when political parties work together to get a majority in parliament. These political parties can also appoint ministers. 

From 1948 till 1958 the political parties KVP (Roman) and PVDA (Red) worked together. It's called the roman-red coalition.
