• History is a subject that researches how people lived in the past. 

• History was being created from the very moment people started writing and reading.

• Sources give us information about the past.

• The past is divided into time periods and historical periods.

Why does history matter?

Why is history important?

• History tells you something about who you are.

• History helps you to understand why the world around you is as it is.

• History teaches you to think about what is true and what isn't.

• History teaches you that people have different opinions and ideas.

• History teaches you to think about what is right or wrong to do.
