Use
Formula: if + sentence

To express possibilities that are (not) true under certain circumstances

For example: If A is true, then B.

Used if something is always true!

Present Simple is used in BOTH parts of the sentence:



Example: If you pour oil on water (part 1), it floats (part 2).

Used when something might happen in the future -> possible

Present tense after if, future tense in part 2 of the sentence
