5. Jumping silhouette – A person jumping in front of a sunset window; the silhouette is sharp, and lighting is soft from behind.
📝 Student Instructions:
1. Capture Your Action Shot:
* Take an action photo that freezes motion with little or no blur.
* Your subject can be jumping, spinning, splashing, or doing anything active.
* Try taking the photo in low or soft lighting for a creative challenge.
2. Camera Settings to Adjust:
* Shutter Speed: Set to 1/500 or faster to freeze motion.
* Aperture (f-stop): Use f/2.8 to f/4 for low-light environments and shallow depth of field.
* ISO: Raise ISO (800–1600) if shooting in a dark room, but be mindful of noise.
* White Balance: Adjust based on the lighting—use “Tungsten” for indoor bulbs or “Daylight” for natural lighting.
3. Write Down the Conditions:
* After taking the shot, write a brief reflection including:
* Location and lighting setup (natural, artificial, soft, direct, etc.)
* Camera settings (shutter speed, ISO, aperture/f-stop, white balance)
* What challenges you faced and how you adjusted to capture a sharp image
