WHO LIVES IN THE OCEAN?

Lesson 1 - Do whales live in the ocean?

This lesson covers:
    Are whales mammals or fish?
    What do whales eat?
    How do whales communicate?

Learning activities:
    How echolocation works.
    Understanding how big whales are – comparing sizes.
    Writing and discussion exercises on what has been learned.

Lesson 2 - How do sharks swim?

This lesson covers:
    How do sharks move?
    What do sharks eat?
    How do sharks hear and smell?

Learning activities:
    How electroreception works.
    Understanding how big sharks are – comparing sizes.
    Writing and discussion exercises on what has been learned.

Lesson 3 - Can dolphins talk?

This lesson covers:
    What features do dolphins have?
    What do dolphins eat?
    How do dolphins talk?

Learning activities:
    How echolocation works.
    Writing and discussion exercises on what has been learned.

Lesson 4 - How long do sea turtles live?

This lesson covers:
    What features do sea turtles have?
    What are the different sea turtle species?
    What do sea turtles eat?

Learning activities:
    Discuss sea turtle features.
    Understanding how sea turtles breathe and drink water.
    Writing and discussion exercises on what has been learned.

Lesson 5 - Seal or sea lion?

This lesson covers:
    What are the differences between seals and sea lions?
    What do seals eat?
    How do seals breathe underwater?

Learning activities:
    Writing and discussion exercises on what has been learned.
    Colour in sheet.
