Introductie

A title of a movie (but it could also be a specific word, person, or event) is presented in a series of icons. And briefly, to be exact, in five seconds. The students must complete this short visual story based on a drag-and-drop question.

How to use it?
This activity can be used in various ways and across different subjects. Personally, I find it a great format to use as a (bonus) exam question, but of course, it's also perfect for promoting collaboration among students. To achieve this, you can utilize the 'Show to students' option during the classroom lesson.

Tip: You could even have the students create a five-second visual story on paper themselves. They can then upload a photo of their story to LessonUp.

What are you meant to do?

You see a person/film/place/event indicated in the icons. But what is the their meaning? There are two examples in this slide. Then try to solve them yourself!

➤What historical event is indicated here?

➤What historical film is mentioned here?

➤What historical person is mentioned here?

Now you are going to put the icons in the right place to complete the 'story'.

Ok, now a step further...

Make your own '5 second' story of the topic we are currently discussing in the classroom.

Before you start, have a good look at the previous examples: how are icons and information used?

Carry out this assignment on paper.

And now... your turn!

Take a picture of your 5 second story and upload it here.
