A short review of all the verb tenses and how to use them correctly.

Present Simple

Present Simple

+ I brush my teeth every day.

- She doesn't go to Spain every 

year.

? Do you listen to music very 

often? 

Present Continuous

+ The teacher is talking to 

his students.

- The students are paying

attention.

? Are they watching TV?

Past Simple

+ I saw her at the supermarket 

yesterday.

- I didn´t go to the party last

 week. 

?  Did you do your homework this 

morning? 

 

Past Continuous

+ The birds in my garden were 

singing.

- I wasn't sleeping when my mum 

called.

? Were you sleeping when I 

called you?

Future with will:

• Form: will + infinitive
• Predictions, offers, promises, agreements, requests
• I will help you with your homework. (promise)
  
• I think I will pass the exam. (prediction)
  
• Will you please stop screaming? (request)
  

Future with going to:

• Form: to be + going to + infinitive
• Talking about things that you have evidence for.
• Look at the clouds! It's going to rain.
• Plans for the future
• We're going to visit grandma tonight.
