Why do you think we use the past simple?

Past simple - Affirmative 

You use the past simple to say that something happend in the past.

Form:  Whole verb +ed

Djevano  walked to school yesterday.

Signal words: yesterday, last week / month / year, ago, in 2000.

Past simple: irregular verbs
