Understanding Conditionals
The second conditional is used to talk about unreal or improbable present or future situations.

If I won the lottery, I'd buy a mansion. 
I'd go to the moon if I was an astronaut.

Structure of the Second Conditional
The second conditional is formed using 'if' + past simple in the 'if' clause and 'would' + base form of the verb in the main clause.

Negatives and Questions
In negative form, 'would not' is used in the main clause. Questions are formed by inverting the subject and 'would' in the main clause.

- I wouldn't do that If I were you.
