Grammar 14 - Possessive: 's / ' / of 
Possessive = bezit - aangeven van wie iets is.

Wanneer gebruik je 's:  
Als de eigenaar van iets een persoon, dier, organisatie of land is. 
.... in het enkelvoud
.... in het meervoud als woorden niet op een S eindigen

Don't enter my brother's room - Brussels is Belgium's capital - Go get those children's football!
That is Thomas's bike! 

En bij uitdrukking met tijd - night/day/month/year 
He is reading today's newspaper - Are you going to watch tonight's episode?

Wanneer gebruik je alleen een ':  
Bij personen/dieren in het meervoud die wel op een S eindigen

My parents' car. (parents = meervoud met s)
His siblings' hobby. (siblings = meervoud met s)
Those elephants' ears. (elephant = meervoud met s)

- Bij dingen van dingen
- geografische namen
- als de eigenaar niet een mens, dier, land of organisatie is.

Much en many betekenen allebei - veel

many = telbaar                       much =  ontelbaar

Je gebruikt many bij dingen die je kunt tellen
Je kunt er dan bijv. 3 (birds) of 6 (apples) voor plaatsen.
I have many questions - Many people like English

Je gebruikt much bij dingen die je niet kunt tellen 
How much money do you have? - We don't have much time

Past simple
      -  I can talk about what happened in the past

What is the past simple ?

To tell something happened yesterday, last week, last month, last year, five year ago.
To talk about completed actions in the past

 verb+ed = past simple

walk - walked
look - looked
cycle - cycled

Past simple
      -  I can talk about what happened in the past

If the verb ends in a short vowel (korte klinker) + one consonant (medeklinker),
you double that consonant when you add -ed.

(to stop) He stopped to take a picture.
(to grab) They grabbed the food off the floor.

If the verb ends in a consonant (medeklinker) + -y, you replace that -y with -ied.

(to try) The monkey tried to climb the tree.
(to cry) The player cried after losing the final.

Irregular verbs

Some verbs (werkwoorden) have their own form instead of -ed.

I think about you every day --> I thought about you every day.
I sing a song --> I sang a song
He runs very fast --> He ran very fast.

Regelmatige ww.: hele ww + ed
Onregelmatige ww.: 2e rijtje
He liked that show.

Vraagzinnen:
Regelmatige én onregelmatige ww.: Did + onderwerp + hele werkwoord
Did he like that show?

Ontkenningen:
Regelmatige én onregelmatige ww.: Onderwerp + didn't + hele werkwoord
He didn't like that show.
