Moving Forward: Courage and Resilience

Today's focus

We are going to think about how our character strengths of courage and resilience will help us feel better about changes that will happen in the next few weeks.

Like.......

starting a new class

moving to a classroom, building ow even a new school

getting to know new teachers

making new friends

finding our way around new places

What is Courage?

Courage means being brave, even when something feels a little scary or new.

What is Resilience?

Resilience is when you keep trying and don’t give up, even if things are hard at first.

Facing Changes Together

Soon we will start thinking about moving to our new class, having a new teacher, or for our Year 6s moving to a new school.

Change can feel strange, but that’s okay!

How Courage Helps

Having courage can help you try new things, talk to new friends, and learn in new places.

Try to find the inner "super hero" and have the courage to take on new challenges.

How Resilience Helps

Resilience helps you bounce back when you feel worried or get things wrong.

It will help you keep going until you feel happy and settled.

Don't worry if things feel strange, or lonely or scary for a while - all of this is normal.

Keep bouncing back and you will soon feel happy and settled.
