read the first chapter
After reading the first chapter together, discuss with your students why the events of 9/11 and the story of Shirin connect.

The discussion questions you can use:
• Why do you think Shirin’s family is always on the move, knowing that they have the Muslim faith?
• Can you already think of a reason why Shirin is angry? (hint: the attacking part)
• Why do you think the teacher asked repeatedly if Shirin was sure she was in the right class?
