What is the purpose of negative sentences?
When/where would you need to reply negatively in English?

Slide 2 - Slide

Negations in the present simple
Bij vormen van to be en hulpwerkwoorden voeg je het woord 'not' toe om een ontkennende zin te maken:
- to be (am/is/are) not
- cannot / can't
- will not / won't

She is 13 yes old. --> She isn't 13 years old. (is not)
He can speak English. --> He can't speak English. (cannot)
You will go to shool on Friday. --> You won't go to school on Friday. (will not)

Negations in the present simple
Staan deze werkwoorden niet in een zin? Dan moet je een hulpwerkwoord erbij pakken!
--> don't (do not) / doesn't (does not)
Na elke vorm van do moet je het hele werkwoord gebruiken

You love cats --> You don't love cats.

He loves cats --> He doesn't love cats.
