What do you know about the North West of England?
Do you know what someone from London is called? How about from Liverpool or Leeds? And what about the accent they have?

  • From c. 700 BC: modern Britain was inhabited by great number of Celtic tribes
  • 43: the Romans successfully invade Britain (emperor Claudius) and start their conquest
  • Britannia (Roman Britain)
  • 410: last Roman legions leave Britain
  • c. 450: Anglo-Saxon invasions begin

  • AD 43: the Romans invaded Britain. 
  • They took control over most of what is now 
     England and Wales.
  • Resistance in the North was too tough for them.
  • ADD 122: Hadrian visited Britain
  • He decided to build a very long wall to keep the Barbarians out.

- Do assignment 4 on A4. Hand it in in a binder (snelhechter) on 14/09 (next week). You can also choose to make it into a real leaflet. In that case, put in in a plactic sleeve (insteekhoes) and then in a binder.
