In 1914, British Explorer Ernest Shackleton led an expedition to Antarctica, hoping to be the first person to cross the continent. Within months, his ship, the Endurance, became trapped in ice. Shackleton’s goal changed from the completion of his expedition to the survival of his crew. In the end, he managed to lead all 27 of his men to safety.
