What are we going to do today?
Today we will be discussing conjunctions
You also will be practising your writing skills (using the conjunctions)

Learning goal: you can tell what conjunctions are and give examples of conjunctions

What are conjunctions? Or can you give an example?

Slide 3 - Open question

You use conjonctions to match sentences together:
She booked a ticket to Paris. She had always wanted to climb the Eiffel tower.

She booked a ticket because she had always wanted to climb the Eiffel Tower.

Conjunctions indicate the connection between the sentences:


simultaneity               as, while
consequence              so, so that, therefore
choice                           or
cause                             as, because, for, since
summary                      and
contradiction              although, however, whereas, but (even) though
