  • 1502: The older brother of Henry VIII passes away --> Henry becomes the next in line for the throne
  • 1509: Henry marries at 17 with a widowed wive of his brother Catharina of Aragon

  • Catharina can't give Henry a male heir to the throne --> He goes to look for a mistress

  • Henry VIII wants Anna Boleyn as his Mistress 
  • Anna Boleyn doesn't want to be his mistress, but would want to become his wife
  • Henry VIII wants to divorce from Catharine and wants to marry Anna

  • The pope won't allow the divorce

  • Consequence = The Anglican Church is formed
  • Anna gives Henry a daughter, Elizabeth `i

  • A process starts to accuse Anna Boleyn from infidelity (cheating)

  • Anna is found guilty and is beheaded
  • Henry VIII marries Jane Seymour


  • Jane give Henry a son, Eduard VI. Jane dies while giving birth

  • Henry VIII marries Anne in 1540 to form an alliance with Germany
  • Henry VIII thought Anne was ugly and he didn't like her
  • The marriage lasted only 7 months

  • They were married for 2 years (1540 - 1542)
  • Henry liked to have young and pretty women around him
  • Catherine soon had lovers and was beheaded because of infidelity
