reasons to use passive?

1) we want to change the focus of the sentence

- The goal was made by Cristiano Ronaldo -> more interested in the goal, than in player

2) who or what causes the action is unknown/ unimportant or obvious or people in general

* He is arrested. (obvious by whom = police)

* My bike is stolen. (unknown by whom)

* The road is repaired. (unimportant by whom)
