Standing Strong: Peer Pressure & Resilience
What do you already know about handling peer pressure?
Learning Objective

What Is Peer Pressure?
Peer pressure is the influence from one's peers to conform to their behaviors, values, or attitudes, often in order to fit in or avoid being excluded.
This influence can be both negative, such as pressuring someone to engage in risky or harmful activities, and positive, like encouraging participation in a new sport. It can be direct, through explicit suggestions, or indirect, through observing others and feeling the need to follow their lead
Types of Peer Pressure
Peer pressure can be direct (someone persuades you) or indirect (feeling the need to fit in).
Positive vs Negative Pressure
Peers can encourage good habits (positive), but they can also pressure you into risky or uncomfortable situations (negative).
