What do you check before reading?

What is a 'heading'?

Why do you check the title, headings and pictures before reading a text on a reading TEST?

1. To know how long the text is.
2. To get an idea of what the text is about.
3. To check if the text is interesting.

What can you do when you read a word you don't understand?

1. Panic!
2. Read the line before and after the word.
3. Look it up in a dictionary.

How do you check if your answer is correct?

1. I wait until the teacher checks my test.
2. I secretly look at my neighbour's anwers.
3. I check if I can underline my answer in the text.

Remember

Before reading: Title, headings, picture -> Check what the text is

                                  about.

While reading: Difficult word -> Check context + Think about

                                what would be logical!
