Adjectives describe nouns: 
The beautiful table - a brilliant idea - a firm apple

Adverbs descibe verbs and other adjectives: 
He sings beautifully - he described it brilliantly - I firmly believe

To make advers add -ly
Y at the end of a word becomes i : easy = easily
