Adverbs charades game
  • Divide the class in two teams
  • Two students come in front of the class and select one of the 'charades' cards 
  • The teachers says aloud an activity
  • The students act out the activity (without saying anything) according to the adverb on his/her card 
  • Can your team guess the adverb on your card? Earn a point!

What’s an adjective?
Adjectives usually describe a noun = We normally use adjectives to talk about people and things
  • a kind man
  • a patient teacher
  • a big house
What’s an adverb?
 Adverbs usually describe verbs (or adjectives). We use adverbs to talk about how people do things  
  • The man talked kindly.
  • The teacher explained the exercise patiently.
  • The thief shouted angrily.
  • He works carefully.

BE CAREFUL!
With the verbs to be, to feel, to look and to smell we use adjectives!

  • She is beautiful.
  • Peter and Lily are happy.
  • She feels sad.
  • It smells good.
  • You look sad.
