Task: Unit setup
  1. Create an iMedia Folder - This is where you will save all of your work.
  2. Create a folder inside your iMedia folder called - R094 - WhereAbouts Travel Guide (inside create 2 sub folders) - Task 1 / Task 2
  3. Create a PowerPoint Document called - "R094 WhereAbouts Project Log" - Save inside your R094 - WhereAbouts Travel Guide Folder
  4. Save this file into your folder.

WhereAbouts Travel Guides – Highlighting Task
Task Instructions:
Read the whole document carefully.

Make sure you understand what WhereAbouts is asking you to design.

1) Highlight sections about the purpose.
  • Why is this project being created?
  • What does the company want to achieve?
  • What is your role as the designer?

2) Highlight sections about the target audience.
  • Who will be using the travel guides?
  • What type of people are they designed for?
  • How will this influence your design?
 

3) Highlight sections that give design ideas or requirements.
  • Information about the book format, sizes, and layout.
  • Instructions about the front cover, spine, and online version.
  • Keywords that hint at the style or look (e.g. visual identity, eye-catching).

Create a mood board to generate ideas for the imagery that you will use in your Visual Identity and Travel Guide - You should have a slide that:

  1. Layout of different  travel guides
  2. Possible destinations
  3. Environmentally conscious 
  4. Examples of different logos
  5. Colour Scheme Ideas
  6. Typography Ideas (fonts)

A good mood board should be annotated - to explain your choice of images.
