Today we're going to be talking about Vacations. You'll also get to write about your ideal vacation
Do you remember last lesson?

  • how to ask for information in general
  • to talk about the future with will 

Slide 2 - Slide

Tell the students that they will use these wh- questions in today's assignment

Slide 3 - Video

Tell the students that one of the items that will be discussed in class is the dream holiday

Then, watch 60 seconds of the video to get them to start thinking about their own dream holiday
If you could go anywhere on vacation, where would you go?

Slide 4 - Mind map

Activate the students by asking them where they would go on vacation if they could go anywhere. Have them fill in the name of the place via the interactive wordweb

Discuss the aims for today
What will we be doing today?
The handout contains three exercises.

The exercises will also help you prepare for the speaking activity we will do next class.

Introduce the overall assignment for today. Every exercise will be explained in a different slide.

Explain to students that they have to fill in the blanks with the missing words in the box


Slide 8 - Slide

Explain that they are going to practice their speaking fluency by reading aloud the conversation of exercise one.

Slide 9 - Slide

Now comes the fun part. Tell the students about the imaginary situation and let them first consider some questions. This is to practice asking questions about travel plans.

Slide 10 - Slide

Now let the students write down the answers to the questions their partner wrote by swapping their papers. This allows them to write about their vacation plans. Which in turn will also help with the speaking activity of next class

Give the handout to the students and walk through the classroom to make sure everybody is working on it. When they get to exercise 2, walk around the classroom and focus on one item when it comes to pronunciation and provide feedback on it
