Email versus Informal letter
The format of the informal letter looks basically just like the format of the email that we have practiced during my lessons.

The only difference is that you have to add:
Your Name, Address and Date at the top of the letter. 

It is easy!

At the top of the letter write:
Your name
Address
 Date 

In English we write the house number before the street name.

Leave lines open before and after the date

Parts of an informal letter
- Your name and address
- Date
- Greeting, begroet degene die je een brief stuurt
- Introduction - "Make contact" + Reason, de reden dat je de brief  schrijft
- Body -Main text, de boodschap van je brief
- Conclusion - wat verwacht je van degene?
- Greeting, sluit je brief weer af met een groet.

- Someone you know well, a friend or family member

- Someone you don't know well, a teacher or your boss

- Someone you don't know the name of

Reason for writing
- You are reacting to a letter you got from someone
- You want to know how someone is doing
- you want information on something
- etc.

Main text
Write your message to the reader
- Write down what you want to say, make a new paragraph with each thing you talk about.
- Always skip a line between paragraphs to make it nicer to read!

Closing
Write down what you expect from the reader:
- I hope to hear from you soon
- I would like you to hand this in on Monday
- Tell me if you're available Saturday

Final greeting
Finish your letter with another greeting:

Formal (to someone you don't know well)
Kind regards, Yours sincerely, Thank you

Informal (to someone close, like friends or family)
Bye, Cheers, Best wishes, Love
