What is the VV Syllable Pattern?
A VV (Vowel–Vowel) pattern happens when two vowels are side by side, but they do NOT make one sound together.
Instead, each vowel makes its own sound, so the word is split into two syllables.
Spotting the VV Pattern:
👉 Two vowels together
👉 Each vowel says its own sound
👉 The word breaks between them. Example: ‘flu-id’.
How to Divide VV Pattern Words
Step 1: Find two vowels together.
Step 2: Check if each vowel has its own sound.
Step 3: Draw a line between the vowels to split the word into syllables.
