What do you already know about science?
What You'll Learn Today
At the end of the lesson you will be able to identify objects that are alive, never alive, or were once alive, name the five senses, and describe changes in the seasons.
Living and Non-Living Things
Some things are alive, some were alive, and some have never been alive. Can you spot the differences?
Animals and Plants
Animals move, grow, need food, and breathe. They can be big or small.
Animals
Plants
Plants grow, need water and light, and stay in one place. Some have flowers or leaves.
Objects That Were Never Alive
Rocks, water, and chairs are examples of things that have never been alive.
Our Five Senses
We use our senses to explore: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch.
Changing Seasons
Summer and Winter
Spring and Autumn
In spring, flowers bloom and trees grow leaves. In autumn, leaves fall and days get cooler.
Summer is hot and sunny. Winter is cold and may have snow. We wear different clothes for each.
