After one minute, write down as many animals as you can remember in English in two minutes.

Mark the words you do not know yet or are not sure of yet in yellow

Describing an animal 
Work in pairs.
One chooses an animal from the pictures.
Decribe it in English. Use words from the list.
The other one guesses the animal.
Then swap. 
Keep doing this until the time is up.

Can it / the animal ... (fly / swim / climb /  make a sound/ whistle / etc.)

Is it/ the animal ... (dangerous/ big / small / a pet/ etc.)

Does it / the animal have ... (feathers / a fur / paws / wings / antlers / etc.)

Does it / the animal ... (eat meat / live in the water / sting/ etc.

A game of 'what animal is it?'

Work in pairs or groups of three.
Each chooses an animal.
Ask each other questions in turns to eliminate animals.
Keep asking questions until you have found the correct animal.
Let's play an example first.
