Let's Build a Theme Park!

Congratulations! You and your creative design, engineering and construction team have been hired to construct the GTA’s newest Theme Park! With a local competitor not to far away, it is your job to design, name, and build a theme park that will attract people of all ages for a fun filled experience.

Your Job...

Design a plan for your park (attraction, layout , materials etc.)

Construct, test and refine the various structures in your Theme Park

Bring it all together adding colour and design to your park

Part One: The Plan

1. What will the park be named/the theme be?

2. What rides, attractions will it have?

3. What factors should you consider? (cost, sustainability, land/environment, safety etc.)

4. Draw out a plan of the park

4. Assign each member 2-3 structures to build for the Theme Park

5. Have your plan approved by your teacher

Part Two: Design and Construct

1. Draw a plan of your individual structures with a list of the materials you will use to construct it

2. Show you plan to your teacher

3. Build your individual structures and test and refine your plan as you go (remember the Engineering Design Process)

Part Three: The Final Product

1. Add colour and interest to your park sticking to the name and theme you decided on at the beginning

2. Come together as a team and put your theme park together

3. Present your park to the class
