Sentence safe

Think of sentences you (often) say to your patients.

I will write them down in Dutch and you have to translate them into English.

Partner up!

Think of a scenario that could happen between you and an English-speaking patient.

Discuss with your partner who is going to be the nurse and who is going to be the patient. 

Write down a script for each role in Dutch.

Speaking time

Translate the sentences you just wrote down and have the conversation with your partner.

Done? Reverse the roles and give each other feedback on their language and responses.

Two truths and a lie

Think of two things that are true about yourself and one thing that is a lie. Write them down on a piece of paper.

1. Don't write your name on the paper.

2. Don't write down which ones are the truths and 

which one is the lie.

Tip: don't make the lie too obvious.
