Aim: At the end of the lesson, students are able to analyse and interpret a collection of student responses and decide on effective feedback for those responses.

Practical assignment 30 minutes - groups of 3
You will get a selection of student responses to an assignment
  • Study the aim and SC for the assignment
  • Analyse and interpret the responses
  • Decide on feedback
  • Formulate class feedback
  • Formulate effective feedback for this student

In the title, give the main idea or opinion.
Write about the important parts of the experience, not every detail.
Organise your ideas into paragraphs.
Write about the good and the bad.
Start with an introduction that gives an overview of what you’re talking about and sets the stage for your review.

  • Read through the MG and the requirements of the assignment carefully (remind yourself :))
  • Continue working on your assignment.
  • Tip: using peer feedback? Ask a peer to review the format or criteria you plan to have students use - is it clear?

Tanya's top tips (based on fb)
  • Learner info: Refer to week 2 content to help with this. Include CEFR and other frameworks. Refer to theory.
  • Make sure you explicitly tell me how and when you introduced the aims and SC to your learners.
  • Format = 3 lessons. Learners need to produce something. Lessons 1+2 = give content to help learners produce something (in/after lesson 2). Lesson 3 = you design this based on the evaluation of the product.
  • Support all choices and motivation with theory!
