Making questions using the past tense.

Question: 
The question in the Past Simple is formed with did. 
Let op: Bij vraag met Did wordt het werkwoord weer tegenwoordige tijd.
Why did they stop walking?

Behalve met het werkwoord to be
She was happy with her life
Dan plaats je het werkwoord vooraan:
  • Was she happy with her life?
He was annoyed after the announcement
  • Was he annoyed after the announcement?

Na een vorm van 'to do' gebruik je ALTIJD een HEEL werkwoord!
Did you see the accident last night?

  1. She had 1 sister and 4 brothers.

  4. I was surprised when I heard the news.

  1. Talk to all your classmates
  2. Write 1 question in the past simple and write down 1 negative/negation
  3. Example: Were you happy as a child? Eva ate all the scones.
  4. So: 1 question for all your classmates (write down the answers) and 1 negative/negation for all of your classmates
  5. Goal: To get familiar with negatives in the past simple
