Verbs to express likes/dislikes: hate, love, like, enjoy, don't mind

These verbs are followed by...

1. A noun (znw)

I love festivals!

2. -ing-form of a verb

I hate listening to this teacher

3. A special one: be into

I'm into rock concerts --> informal

These words indicate frequency

= How often does something happen

I always watch De Luizenmoeder on Sunday

I never go to fitness club during the weekends

but...

I am always late for class

He is seldom late for work

Julia is never late for her driving lessons

What happens here?

Rule:

The adverb of frequency comes before the verb, if there is only one verb in the sentence 

But, the adverb of frequency comes after the verb to be

Put the adverb of frequency in the right spot:

We go to the mall.

1. We sometimes go to the mall.
2. We go sometimes to the mall.
3. Sometimes we go to the mall.
4. Both A and C are correct.

Choose where the adverb of frequency is placed.

My sister reads crime novels

(Often)

1. My sister reads crime novels often.
2. My sister often reads crime novels.
