Past Simple in questions
Questions in Past Simple start with “did” (or wh-question followed by“did”), then subject then verb (infinitive):

Did - subject- verb
Did - you - watch

Slide 23 - Slide

Because did is an auxiliary (hulp ww) (“do” --> "did") and is already in the past tense, you do not change the verb:
So: Did you work yesterday?
en NOT: Did you worked yesterday?

Slide 24 - Slide

Exception:
to be”: was & were. If “was” or “were” is in the sentence, you don't need DID.

Bv. She was ill yesterday.
Was she ill yesterday?
En dus NIET: Did she is ill yesterday?
