Today
Last lesson before the may break - after may break we start the test assignment about 'natural disasters'. From now on, every lesson before a holiday will be about improvising!

Improvisation
= creating without preparation

Two types:
1. Spontaneous impro: no planning at all
2. Rehearsed impro: some planning...
(today we will work on nr. 2)

  • Agree! Say 'yes and...' (add to the discussion)
  • There are no mistakes!
  • Listen!
  • Don't make the scene about you,
       make it about the other person.

Noun: people, places, things
(mum, gym, ball)
Verb: actions
 (walk, cry, sing, throw)
Adjective: more about the noun
 (lovely mum, old gym, soft ball)
Adverb: more about the verb
(walking fast, crying quietly, singing happily, throwing quickly)

Exercise 1: group story
In groups. Get paper from the teacher. 1 pen needed in each group.

Listen to what you are asked to write.

Write down your answers. 

Fold paper so the next group can't see your answers - 
pass the paper to the next group...

Done? Fold the paper and pass it to the group next to you.

Rehearse & perform!
  • 5 minutes to rehearse the given scene...
  • Divide the characters and make sure all the given facts are clear to everyone! 
  • Performance should last +/- 2 minutes
