Confident Communication: Presentations & Feedback

Learning Objective

At the end of the lesson you will be able to deliver a confident presentation if you have not already, give and receive feedback, and use correct punctuation and grammar in your written responses.

Starter: What Makes Good Feedback?

Discuss as a class what qualities make feedback useful and motivating.

Think about being specific, constructive, and polite.

Give some examples too on the next slide.

Write your thoughts on the next slide

Presentations

Presenting: Sharing Your Work

Deliver the presentation you prepared. Listeners, take notes on strengths and areas for improvement for each presenter.

Get into pairs, Using the feedback worksheet when your partner presnets write some feedback for them

Helpful Sentence Starters

- "I liked how you..." - "One way to improve could be..." Try to use these when giving feedback.

Written Feedback: Make it Count

What did the presenter do well? Use complete sentences with capital letters and full stops.

Suggest one way to make the presentation even better. Avoid one-word answers.

Practising Verbal Feedback

After each presentation, Write one positive comment and one suggestion for improvement. Use sentence starters to help structure your ideas.

Complete your feedback sheet for each presentation. Check your punctuation and grammar before handing it in.


Building Discussion Skills

In groups of 3 /4 you are going to be given 10 minutes to make notes on "What makes a good team activity?"

You will all get the chance to chat in your groups and have an informal chat about it.

Assessing Your Communication

We will observe your participation, feedback quality.
