The negative form of the Past Simple
In the past simple tense, negative statements are formed by adding “did not” (or didn’t) between the subject and the infinitive form of the verb.
  •    He did not study for the exam, so he failed.
  • We did not visit Paris during our trip to Europe last year.
  • She did not call me back yesterday.
  • He did not dance at the party last night.
