The past simple 
Regular verbs (regelmatige ww):
Step 1: Take the root (stam) form of the verb.
Step 2: Add –ed to the end. 
For example, the simple past tense of “look” is ”looked”.
If the verb ends in -e, you would just add a -d.
For example “bake” becomes “baked

There is no rule for these kinds of verbs.
You just have to learn them
