Past simple [p.209]

Used to talk about completed actions in the past!

Used with last, ago, yesterday, dates in the past.	I ate a sandwich last Friday. I was sick two days ago. He finished school in 2022.
Usually verb + -d or -ed	He waited for me. She laughed a lot.
Short vowel + consonant: double consonant + -ed.	To stop: He stopped at the traffic lights. To snap: She snapped when he walked in.
Consonant + y: replace -y with -ied.	To try: The student tried to cheat. To apply: She applied for the job yesterday.
